Update

It has been difficult to update the blog lately with San Diego being on fire. If you visit the blog regularly, please try to leave a comment now and then. There is a spot for comments below each post. Without comments, it feels like I am just talking to myself.....which is boring since I already know what I am going to say. Questions would be great too.

San Diego continues to burn. Thankfully my house is no longer in danger, but so many homes remain in the fire path. Click here for a nice map of the fires. Since I don't watch television or listen to the radio, the Internet has been my main source of information. Here is an article written tonight that I found pretty informative.

SUNGENI

Please pray for Thandie and the Good Samaritan Staff as they had to make an extremely difficult decision to send one of the children, Sungeni back to his village today. The staff have worked tirelessly with this child in an effort to keep him. Unfortunately Sungeni was not compliant and his choices have put not only himself but the other children in jeopardy. This is the first child to leave Good Samaritan, and while we are heartbroken to see him leave, we know that God has a plan for him. This was Sungeni's time to go back to his village. While the Good Samaritan Staff and Sungeni were meeting with the social welfare department, a 12 year old boy who has been orphaned not only by his parents but all relatives was brought to the office. Thandie described this boy as well mannered and desirous of a chance to live in a safe and stable environment. It looks as if God maybe bringing this boy to us.

Savannah-Hope on the scale

Savannah-Hope had a well child exam today and weighed in at 10lbs 8oz! She has gained 6lbs 2oz in 7 weeks! Praise the Lord! Please continue to pray for her adoption journey. Urgent prayer needed for the arrival of immigration form (I 600A and 171H) and the completion of the social worker's adoption recommendation.

Part 2 of the Urgent Need coming soon. Please keep Ida's diet (Urgent Need Part 1) in prayer.

We know that the staff have worked so hard to keep Sungeni at Good Samaritan. Sometimes no matter how hard we try God has another path. Two years ago when we were there another intervention was attempted with this child, you remember Chrissie how hard that was and for a time it showed promise in Sungei's life. Now only the Great Physician can heal whats broken. Be encouraged God has his hand on Sungei. We love you. Keep up the good work on the blog. Be Safe. Savanna looks Great, She is a miracle child.

I was so excited to see and hear about how much Savannah weighs now!! I miss her, but being able to see her on your blog is GREAT!!

My husband and I are sending money for Ida and Savannah, for diapers. I spoke with Thandie on Sunday morning to see how Savannah was doing and if they were in need of monies to be able to continue to buy her diapers, so we are sending monies for her.

I want to let Ada know that Lewis and I miss her very much and we will be sending monies to start her paperwork for her to come and visit America in 2008.

Please pray that all will go well in this process for Ada. I understand that there is alot that has to be done in order for her to be able to come, so please pray for her and the whole process.

I praise God for you Chrissie and your blog, so please keep it going. I do know of others who check out your blog, even though they do not leave any comments. May God continue to Bless You in all that you do.

Thank you for all of your updates. i look forward to seeing what you have to say every day. Without this blog many of the needs of the orphanage would not be known. Because of your blog my husband and I know about Ida and the Lord has led us to help. Please continue your great work.

Chrissie, I have not written before, but have been following this for several months. I am long time friends of the Gentry's in Louisville, KY. I know their hearts and also see that your heart is like unto their's. You are doing a wonderful work. I am praying for your city in all these fires. You have the heart of the Father. "Do not get weary in well doing, your due season is here."
Thank you,
Connie in Louisville, KY

I do post comments on yours; but don't do it very often; could you please return the favor if i post comments on yours? I was voluntarily evacuated from the fires. We just got home a couple of hours ago. We're all fine; I'm EXTREMELY drained, both physically and emotionally.

Chrissie, alot of our church members know how to look up the blog but when it comes to typing a response they are "not good on the computer" (They say) so they are afraid to send a response. Please know that your voice is being heard and well received and your reward will be in heaven when HE says, "Well Done my good and faithful servant!" Thanks So Much for everything you are doing for my parents (The Gentry's) and the people of Malawi! Denise Kennedy

Thanks for all the comments! Its nice to be reminded once in a while that someone is on the other side of the blog. Sometimes its like calling someone three times a week and leaving a message and they never call you back. You start to think, hmm are they getting these messages...am I talking to myself? Glad to know that you are out there. I know that other readers like to see who else is reading too....

Thanks for all the support. Please let me know if you have questions or would like information about a particular subject or ministry.

Chrissie

P.S. Thanks for the prayers regarding the fires....they are still burning....but things are looking better.
