We made it to Malawi!
I was able to get my suitcases through to Malawi from South Africa without paying the excess baggage fee again! Praise the Lord. It didn't look to hopeful at first but God intervened and they let the bags through. The flight to Malawi was 2 hours. The Jorgensons and I had 9 suitcases combined, 6 made it and 3 are missing. I am grateful that the suitcase with my clothes and most needed items made it!
We were greeted at the airport by Lloyd and two boys from the Children's Home. We visited the Jorgenson's house first and then were on our way to the Children's Home. It was great to see all the children again. They have grown so much in a year. They seemed very surprised that I remembered most of their names. It was sad of course not to see Ivy's face among them. It was nice to see so many of the progression and completion of so many projects. I was able to see the container, solar water heaters and the bakery house.
I am staying at the Round House. It is just beautiful. The staff have worked very hard to make it nice and have it ready for me. It has two bedrooms, I will be staying in one and Eda from the Children's Home will be staying in the other to keep me company. The Round House is very secure with lots of security bars, locks and even an alarm system! I feel very safe there. And there is water at the Round House! I feel like a queen!
We then went to town to pick up some groceries. Thandie met us at the shop, she had been at school when the plane arrived. Then we had dinner in town...cheese pizza! The electricity was off when I returned to the children's home so we went to bed. A great first day! So happy to be here!
