Day 29 in Malawi, September 12th

Day 29 in Malawi, September 12th

Thandie took all of Savannah’s feedings during the night and let me sleep straight through. I felt stronger this morning but by noon I was wiped out. I really feel like a noodle. I have diagnosed myself with the noodle virus. I have no appetite, but I was able to force down some chicken noodle soup tonight for dinner. It seemed like a good match for the noodle virus.

This morning was Savannah-Hope’s appointment with the eye specialist. When we got there, they told us that the doctor wasn’t able to make it so they moved the appointment to next Monday. So we went back home. She ran a bit of a low grade fever all day today. She finished her antibiotics, so if she isn’t better soon we will take her back to see if there is something else wrong. She seems to be feeling better as far as the chest congestion. She is eating like a piggy! I think that close call with being admitted to the malnutrition clinic scared the appetite back into her. She has been not only increasing the amount she takes at each feeding she has also increased the amount of bottles she is taking. Savannah-Hope seems to really like the nanny too, so that makes things easier on all of us.

Tonsillitis is spreading through the Children’s Home. We have two new kids with it today, Ida and Jason. Please pray for them, they both feel miserable. This infection is especially worrisome for Ida as she has an extremely week immune system.

There were two Good Samaritan funerals today. Pastor January’s (Mulungi District) mother died of cancer yesterday. Pastor Misomali (Walala Village) was hit by a car while riding a bicycle yesterday. Brother Jorgenson and Brother Miller went to one funeral and Brother Gentry went to the other. Tonight four visitors are arriving from Ohio.
